Before I even knew I was pregnant I started crying over everything. I couldn't find anything to wear on Mother's Day, and I cried. E was a little short with me and I swore he hated me and I cried. E asked me one night if I "wanted chicken for dinner" and I cried because chicken repulsed me and he was told NUMEROUS times to only refer to it as "C".
I cried once because E said "this chicken is SO juicy" because the phrase disgusted me. I wasn't even pregnant when I cried over that one, but I still think it was a reasonable response.
My sister is now 36 weeks pregnant and amusing me with her tales of crying. Crying over Extreme Home Makeover (which is a given), crying because she can't play on the floor with her son now that she is so big.
So, tell me the funniest story that you have about crying. Preggo or not, we all know our hormones work overtime sometimes and you just gotta cry!

My wife and I just had our second child 2 weeks ago. The night before she went into labor, we were meeting to go out to dinner and since I was going to be there first, I asked my wife if she would like me to order anything for her (so it would be there when she arrived). She immediately became hysterical telling me "forget it, just go yourself", among other things. After talking her down, we went on to have a nice dinner and a beautiful new baby girl.
ReplyDeleteWhy is chicken always the cause of tears?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with kiddo#1, I burst into tears a lot as we prepared the nursery. I kept changing my mind about the color, the crib, the bedding, the rocking chair. I was so indecisive and man did those tears flow! Now I feel silly about it all. :)
I cried when the forgot the extra onions on my bean and cheese burrito from Taco Bell when I was pregnant. I mean that is why I got in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI am single but committed - Is that how pregnant woman react during those days? EEks... I am scared. I would creep if I saw my love crying all the time like this!
ReplyDeleteFound your site off Indigo's blogroll. Last month I took my 2 boys to see Robots, during the previews I found myself crying during the preview for "Herbie, Fully Loaded." I was super PreMSing and I usually cry at everything then! I'm betting, though, that Herbie will be the feel good movie of the year;)
ReplyDeleteThese are all great stories and great reasons to cry.
ReplyDeleteKapil, I am sorry but it is true hormones are a bitch.
I am totally not a cryer. Except during Extreme Makeover Home Edition. And I cried once on a plane because I was going on my first business trip alone and had to leave my dog with my parents. I was so sad about leaving my dog - and on the plane they played My Dog Skip. I bawled on the plane. It was embarrassing and I chose never to watch that movie again.
ReplyDeleteOnce I cried because I saw some girl on TV crying. I don't even know why she was crying...I had just turned on the TV and didn't even know what show I was watching, let alone why channel I was watching. But just seeing someone cry made me want to cry.
