Back

Hey there. I have had a bit of a blogging break and I am back as good as new. Well, maybe not as good as new, but I am back. I have enjoyed reading how many of you moms (and dads) related to my last post on being In and the Mom version of "In".

Our holiday weekend was peppered with family BBQs, firework celebrations and fun. Now it is back to reality. My reality is that E wants to move to his home state of NH for work. Work is good yes, any work is good at this point in our lives, but NH? I am more of a "suburbs of a big city girl". I have lived outside of NY my whole life. I am a not a "winter for 10 months, drive a long distance to get to civilization type of girl. I have a love/hate thing with NJ but it is my home state. This is where my family is, my friends, my millions of malls and stores right here, my Whole Foods, my beach/mountains/close to major cities are, my tons of things for the kids to do state". I realize NH may have some of those things, but it doesn't have all of them.
That I know.
I will have to write more about it as E and I can make a decision on what to do.

In other news, would you hate me if I told you my baby sleeps through the night? He has been sleeping through the night, at least 8 hours, for weeks now. It is heaven!
Just one more reason to love the chubby little fellow.

  1. Well, it could be worse. He could want you to move to hick town.

  2. Yes I hate you, in a love/hate kind of a way as I was up every 2-3 hours last night with my six-month-old.
I'm with Jilly- it could be worse. Perhaps it will be just for a season. Good luck deciding on such a big change!

  3. What's this about NH? Are you considering a move there? What part? New Hampshire is actually a very nice state... no helmet required! Manchester, Concord, Nashua, and Portsmouth are all decent... not cities, but not really towns, either.... concentrations of people, let's say. And it's not 10 months of winter. But do you ski? There are some really great ski places in NH and in nearby VT and ME. No state income tax, either. No sales tax, either. But look out for those property taxes!

Anyhow. Good luck with the decision!

  4. Yes it could be worse. It could be west virginia. : )

UR- E is from Concord, so around Concord is where we would be. Yes good tax deals, although property taxes are high still not NJ high.
I have been to NH a few times and it is nice.
But it wouldn't be home, ya know?

My friends all professed lots of anger at me when I told them that my son started sleeping all night at 10 days old. Let em hate ya, its worth it!

New Hampshire doesn't sound bad, but if it's not "home" then its not home. BUT... if its HIS home, then that really does create a bit of a problem.

  6. ok, your page is snoring at me. Scared the shit out of me!! ahah ha

I know nothing of NH sweetie. What are the odds you'll actually move??

I live oodles away from my hometown. It's doable, but I upgraded to CA from Oklahoma.

  7. I say move. You could hate it but if that's the case then you can always move back. Give it a shot...as everyone else mentioned, it could be worse.

  8. Congrats on the sleeping! That is great! As for the moving thing, I think I'm in the opposite end of the spectrum. We live about 17 hours away from my family and friends in the suburbs of a big city. I hate it. The traffic scares me, most of the people are just plain awful and we can't afford it. We came here for a job, so I completely understand the having to move for a job.
