BlogHer

I am really excited about Blogher next year. I wish it was on the east coast, but I have never been to Chicago, so I will chalk that up to "cities I want to see before I die".
E promised me this year that I could go in 09 and he will be available to take care of the kids. I think I will take him up on that offer and up him a spa treatment or two and various nights out drinking.

I am going to scour the streets looking for Oprah, eat a roast beef dipped sandwich I saw on Food Network once and see if the city is indeed windy.

I picture BlogHer as a whole bunch of woman running around from room to room in their underwear with bottles of champagne flowing, bubble baths, everyone sharing chocolate and endless reruns of Housewives of Ocean County on TV. Or maybe I have been watching too much soft core porn.
In any event, I will be there with bells on and I want a kick ass roommate.
Tell me, are you planning on going?

  2. Jesus, if I can run around in my undies while drinking champagne, I'm in! And in Chicago! Yahoo!

I just joined BlogHer so I don't know much about it, but maybe I'll get it all figure out.

  3. UR, Springer is still on tv? Wow.

  4. Yeah, and Steve Wilkos has his own show, now, too. The schtick is that Steve plays a holier-than-thou do-gooder who brings on families in crisis and then makes one or more of the parties look like a total scumbag before he decides to "help" them. Not as much fun as Springer, but the same caliber of guest.

  5. You know I'm going to be there and I don't know if it's a reflection on me or others who said they'll be going, but no one has yet offered to be my roomy.

It can't be because of that silly rumor about me being a raging bitch, now can it?

Well, I can vouch for women running from room to room, and definitely for the parties, but we're not often doing it in our underwear. ;)

There will be parties, though, lots and lots of parties. And there will be alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol. And chocolate. And CheeseburgHers.

Really, it's kind of like a slumber party with 1,000 of your closest friends. ;)

  8. I'm not going esp since I'm not a member of blogher. Maybe I could crash?

You will love Chicago and yes, it is windy...thats not just a rumor. :)

  9. UR, you are scaring me!
Stiletto mom, you can crash, and I am not just saying that to sleep in the same room as you.

  11. Heck, I didn't even realize you had to be a member of BlogHer to go...do you? It's pretty close to me this year, but it's too far out in the future - at least financially - to know yet. I kind of hope so, though!

  12. I don't think you're watching enough soft-core porn. I was under the impression that a copier repair man or pizza delivery guy would be there. I would love to go, but I don't think I can. Sigh. Also, according to my reader, you haven't posted in over 10 days. WTF? Is this even real? Am I in the matrix? I'm going to see to it that I kick my reader's ass!

  13. I'm just popping in to say no, you do not have to be a member of BlogHer to come to the conference...all are welcome, including men, total newbie bloggers and even non-bloggers. Look forward to seeing you there!

  14. See everyone can come! Yippee!
Stiletto mom, you just ruined the suspense about the windy city. NOW WHY WILL I EVEN GO?

Skeenky, oh you will be there, if I have to fly you there on wings and a prayer!
DD, I will room with you if you don't mind that I have to blow dry my hair for 2 hours before it is actually dry.

I'm going. I will admit I feel a little scared about the humidity and the lack of terminal "g" sounds on words that end in "-ing." But, oh yeah, I'm going.
