Off Limits Blogging

There are some things I decided not to do when I started this blog a million years ago. I did not want to use our names, I do not want to post pictures of my kid's faces and that is about it.
Usually I will write about any subject: death, vibrators, trying to date a mom, but I really can't think of anything I will not write about on this blog.

What subject(s) will you never touch on your blogs and why? I am really excited to read your answers!

I will not criticize my spouse, my children, my parents or my siblings on my blog. I also don't use my kids names on the blog.

  3. Other than names and photos of the family and kids, really nothing is off limit. I try to keep it anonymous, however I think if my MIL read it she might be able to guess who I am. I know my Hubby reads my blog, he works mostly from home and there was no way I could keep a blog a secret.

    Annie,
If you don't complain about your husband, children, parents, etc...what else is there to talk about? :)

  4. I use names and photos. I wouldnt air arguments with my husband online, and I try to avoid crabbing about my parents.

  5. I would not blog anything about my husband that I have not or would not be willing to say to him. I follow this same rule with discussing him with friends. I also would not blog about personal issues my children do/may have.

I also use nicknames for us and don't name the specific city we live in, though if one reads enough, they would be able to figure out the city.

  6. politics--too divisive. And please note I've got 1,2,3,4,5 contests up and running. Here's the latest:

  7. I think I'm reasonably open to most things when it comes to writing on the blog. Some topics wax and wane, but I'm not adverse to the random things that pop into my head, which probably explains why I don't have my name or any of my family member's names anywhere on the blog, and I also don't use it as a venting place for my gripes about my husband. If I wouldn't gripe to him first, it wouldn't be fair of me to gripe to others.

I don't write super critical posts about my husband, I don't write about our sex life, I don't name my stepson and everyone at work has an amusing, soap opera-ish pseudonym.

  9. The real version of fights with my husband, anything my teenager asks to keep hush. Names, but if you ask me I will tell you. Politics - it is highly irregular that I talk about politics or current events not related to entertainment.

I'm a pretty private person. So I don't generally write too much about our in depth personal life. I do like using some things that are lighthearted for comedy, but I don't get people who will blog about deeply private and personal things in the name of comedy or content.

I also don't complain about the Meester. He works hard, does a lot around the house. Any complaints I have about him, I take directly to him.

Of course, names are off limits, as are pictures.

So basically, all I have left is poop.

I hadn't really thought of the question before but I think I tend to stay away from the 2 nevers - politics and religon.
