Give Thanks

I went to the grocery store today. I know, the worst day of all the days to go. I woke up early so I thought I could get a head start on the crowds.
I was wrong.

I pulled into a spot and went to get out of my car when I saw what appeared to be a young man in the car next to me with shaggy hair. He looked so strange, he was staring straight ahead, so I eased out of the car to get a better look.
I jumped back, it was a dog!
A dog with shaggy people hair wearing a cut off sweatshirt, a bandana and driving a Honda.
WTF?
I swear it freaked me out.

So this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for not having a heart attack in the Shop Rite parking lot. Because then the dog would have to drive my kids home and I don't know how well he drives.

  1. That is too funny! I am thankful that I will be picking up pies and not baking them. Also that I don't have to cook this year!

  3. I am thankful that my daughter only got a bruised cheek instead of the black eye I was expecting when she managed to pull a dining room chair on top of herself today. Ah, the pictures will be lovely!

  4. Hilarious! I can totally see that happening to me. Awesome!

One Christmas, when I was 18, I worked at a grocery store and there was a POISON TURKEY scare (all turkey products sold beteen Dec 17 and 23) and ALL the turkeys in the city were recalled.

THAT, my dear, THAT was chaos. But I would never want to shop the day before a holiday, either, under any circumstances. I think if I'd put it off I'd find a 24-hour place and go at 3 AM.

Oh THAT's funny. I also had to go to the grocery store the day before Thanksgiving. At least it was only for a few items, and I wasn't cooking the big meal. We do Christmas day dinner here, so I need to start planning now for that.

So glad you survived your market trip!

I'm thankful that my family is healthy and that I'm still living on this side of the dirt!
