Seasons Change

Man, this change of seasons thing comes out of the blue to me every four months or so. You would think I would be more prepared, but no, I am not.
I have been busy trying to get out all the kids warmer clothes out and putting away their summer clothing. What will they fit in next year? What do I save and what do I give away?

The worst part is, poor baby K has virtually NO winter clothing. I have managed to find 5 long sleeve shirts, 1 sweater and a couple pairs of pants. I called my sister and put in orders to look through her children's clothing for clothing for him but I am not sure since her son was a summer baby and mine were born in winter. I couldn't have had a girl, I am drowning in girl clothing, nooo I had to have another boy.
I wish I had the money to go out and buy a new wardrobe for K, I would love to shop for bitty baby things, but E just started working again so money is still as tight as ever.
Let's hope my sister pulls through or else K will be one cold baby!

  1. You know, fall is by far my favorite season. Every fall I am so behind. I never get my harvest stuff out. I end up wearing sandals a little too long. I promise myself every year that I will do better! I think my body is always getting ready to hibernate and I just slow down.

I would offer to help with the baby clothes but I'm afraid to turn loose of any of mine yet because the bun in my oven won't be color coded until Thanksgiving...If I end up needing pink, maybe we can exchange some stuff...

  3. Today is practically like winter here, freezing and rainy. I still haven't gone through the boys' clothes. Just pieces here and there to get them through some of the colder days. My oldest has been fighting me wanting to still wear shorts. I'm afraid that I'll have to figure out how to find them some new clothes, too. They've both grown so much this year.

  4. I just went through my stuff and went "replacement" shopping last weekend. Check out some of the consignment/resale shops - they have great stuff for the little babies for fairly cheap!

I dread winter. In southwest Ohio, it's just grey, damp and cold. I would love it if winter was about one month of total snow, cold, wind and ice and then we went back to spring, winter and fall!

  5. I like fall too, and I still have my havianas out.
I will have to look up some thrift stores. What is the difference between a thrift store and a consignment store?

  6. I too am way behind--but I have tackled the Halloween order already. I was thrilled to visit pals over the weekend who have a daughter a full size larger than my oldest. These parents (wayyyy organized had already done the fall changeover and handed me a bag of just-right sized goodies. I must have done something right to earn this good karma! Now I just have to be sure to pay it forward.

  7. Uggh. I even went to the outlet store looking for kid clothes and everything was too expensive and looked cheap. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and re-learn how to sew.I'm still learning how to dress a baby for winter outside of the house. Her little toes were so cold after our walk tonight!

  9. thrift store sells old stuff that is donated cheap, consignment sells stuff for someone else. The store gets a portion of what you spend and so does the person who brought the clothes in.

I just sent away my baby boy clothes or I'd offer to help. Sorry!

  10. Have you tried ebay? I've gotten some great kids clothes there for cents on the dollar. You can usually feel safe if you are dealing with someone who has a lot of positive user feedback...I've only had one problem and I should have known better bc they had a negative comment.

I'm ready for some cold weather...and thank you for reminding me that I need to get my clothing act together!
