When It Rains, It Really Pours

Here is a terrible (what the frick is wrong with you camera? Focus!) picture of my wedding band. Notice something missing?

Yeah, that would be one of the diamonds. I noticed a diamond was missing yesterday afternoon, a day of course, that was not spent sitting home lazy style but running around to various stores and shopping. I also cleaned a bathroom, did loads of laundry, cleaned out drawers and such.

I am sick about it. I cried. I love that ring. I searched the house, my kids searched, my husband searched, no luck. We bought it at a jewelry store back home so I will have to wait until I go back home to have it replaced and fixed. For now it is just me and my bare, lonely hands.

Also, this picture is so crappy and does no justice to how perfect and sparkly my ring is. I looked at my hand and that ring a million times every day since I put it on 6.5 years ago. I feel so naked without it, it is so strange and foreign to me to be ring-less.

That is me, ring-less in NJ.

  1. That sucks. Is it insured? I lost mine a few years ago and although it is insured I was sick about it because of the sentimentality. I ended up finding it in the linen closet between the towels. It was cold and my ring was big on me from losing weight. It just slipped right off.

Oh my god I feel your pain! I lost my engagement ring the day we were leaving for our honeymoon! Somehow it fell out of the wedding band (the band is a wrapper so the engagement ring sat in between 2 bands blah blah) and I was crushed. Fortunately my neighbor found it like a month later, outside on the curb between our houses. Hopefully you'll have the same dumb luck! (I've since had them soldered together)

I feel terrible for you! I remember, right after getting my engagement ring, I bent one of the prongs all the way back, but thankfully didn't lose the diamond.

Just because you bought your ring in one store doesn't mean you have to go back there (unles its insured there). Any store can replace the diamond and check/repair the setting.

  9. kristi, you are right, I am going to go to some jewelry stores to see how much it will be to replace the diamond.

Damn me for upgrading to the bigger diamonds!

I feel your pain, girlfriend. One of the prongs broke on my engagement ring a few years ago and on of the diamonds fell out. Luckily, we had it insured and the replaced the diamond and repaired the prong at no cost to us.

    Your ring is insured,right?

  12. I recommend praying to Saint Anthony-he helps you find lost things. When I lost my engagement ring last year, I prayed and found it within 24 hours. Hope it helps.
